Consequently, the level of extreme poverty declined steadily for a long period. However, this desire to bring poverty to an end started suffering significant setback from 2019 as soon big challenges like COVD-19 menace, violent conflicts and climate change took a center stage globally. Sub-Saharan Africa was found to be among the regions worst hit by the menace of penury. This work was intended to appraise the achievement made so far in eradicating indigence in Sub-Sahara Africa. Historical research approach was employed. It was realized that while a lot of gains have been made in the entire universe regarding the application of integrated strategies to minimize indigence, a significant part of the region is still swimming in abject poverty. This research recommends that efforts be intensified to regularly improve and update poverty data.
